Changing Rivers

Microcosm of a macrocosm, every part a fractal of the whole.  Individually holistic yet symbiotically woven into a greater cosmic tapestry.
Quantum physics reminds our innate sense that everything is composed of energy, all fluidly and unavoidably linked in cosmic measure.  When you look at the birds, the trees, the watery stream, do you only see through limited human goggles, or can you feel with your seventh sense the cosmic web of it all?
There will come a time when humanity will be faced with the realization that our true and lasting prosperity depends on each piece of the macrocosmic puzzle, and we must return to humble agreement with the fundamental principles that guide all life.  We cannot thrive independent of her, in a machine world devoid of Mother Nature’s beating heart.
As Henry Beston eloquently wrote, “the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth."
What we do, what we think, what we feel affects life forms more than just our own. So maybe, if we can learn to quiet the bellowing ruse of ego-centered civilization, we might also begin to hear her whispers and tread more intuitively together?
